The Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon was installed on May 24, 1959. Since that time, we have served to promote music in the community, the nation and the world with an emphasis on service through music. Numerous concerts have been presented throughout the Atlanta area and in Georgia. Many of these concerts have been presented gratis to local retirement centers, nursing homes, and civic organizations. The main thrust of our organization is to award scholarships to deserving collegiate members in Georgia. Since 1971, our chapter has presented over $72,075 to talented young Mu Phis. Not only do we recognize our younger members, we also give Professional Advancement awards to our Alumni members to publish books, create professional recordings , continuing education, professional certification, and to appear in concerts and recitals. The Atlanta professional membership includes: singers, a founder of an opera company, orchestra ensemble members, music teachers, organists, composers, as well as performers on cello, viola, harp, harpsichord, celeste, clarinet, flute and piano.
